The history of Garda PDO extra virgin olive oil
Middle Ages – High quality and economic value of oil. 4 to 6 kg of oil was equivalent to the value of a large pig.
1200 – Establishment of the "Sigillum Comunis Veronae" seals that accompanied oil during exports. The sale was controlled by a specially designated official, the "Superstes Oley." Renaissance – Land arrangement with terrace constructions.
