Mount San Michele<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Mount San Michele (342 m), located to the north-west of the present-day town centre, has been the site of \nancient settlements, which can generally be traced back to prehistoric times, thanks to its peculiar \ngeographic conformation. Despite a suggestion of a toponymic nature, which would recall a Longobard \nsettlement on the hill, there is no documentation to justify its presence. On the plateau a little further \ndown, the church dedicated to St Michael was erected in the 11th century and later enlarged. In the late Middle Ages, a rustic residential complex was built to the north of it for the use of the hermit keepers who \ntook turns tending the church, now subordinate to the one further down the valley in honour of St John the \nBaptist, and which has been attested as the parish church of Cavaion since the 14th century. Archaeological \nexcavations have brought to light the structure of the residential complex, consisting of several rooms and \na courtyard with a Venetian-style well, made of a stone wall on the outside and a brick wall on the inside, \nfrom which water could be drawn.<\/p>

Each planted tree allows around 700 kg of CO2 to be cut down over its lifetime. The electricity consumption \nof an office with 10 people alone generates in one year about 30,000 kg of CO2, e.g. carbon dioxide, the main polluter. These emissions can be neutralised by planting 45 trees.
